Drowned Sorrows
I sit at the bar with a memory
Rum and coke help keep it down
But it floods my mind like a waterfall
God! I think I'm gonna drown.
There were times when we danced as one
To the tunes of the old Rock Stars
Now the only time I get to dance
Is when I'm alone byself in this bar.
The melodies they played for us
Were soft, sensual, and slow
And we clung to each other like snails on a wall
Each like the other, not wanting to let go.
And so I sit and drink my booze down
Hoping like hell, that it'll soon pass.
Drowned sorrows, and the pain within
And your face at the bottom of my glass.
